BIOGRAPHY
Lizza Gebilagin is a journalist/editor with extensive experience in the magazine, book publishing and advertising industries. She has interviewed young refugees about their horrific experiences in Australian detention centres. She's chatted to indie rocker, Ben Lee, about the spiritual awakening that inspired his album, "Awake Is the New Sleep." She's also watched four intoxicated Danish band members spit beer at each other while they rocked a showcase for Canadian Music Week. While she prides herself in being a versatile writer, the theme that holds her stories together is her desire to create greater awareness of issues affecting the social conscience. Yes, the drunk Danish band fits into this category too. They are passionate about the music they create, just like Lizza is passionate about the stories she writes.
Her job is to make the editor's job easier. She does this by coming up with original ideas; organising interviews, photographers, and media passes for events; and, most importantly, by submitting work that is ready for publication.
